Am 24. Februar 2026 wird sich der Präsident des Europäischen Rates, António Costa, gemeinsam mit der Präsidentin der Europäischen Kommission, Ursula von der Leyen, nach Kyjiw (Ukraine) begeben. Anlass ist der vierte Jahrestag der Aggression Russlands gegen die Ukraine.

Der Rat legte seinen Standpunkt fest, der es Österreich ermöglicht, seine Vereinbarung über den Straßenverkehr mit der Schweiz über die Grenzkabotage im Personenverkehr mit Kraftomnibussen zu ändern.

Als Reaktion auf die Krise im Roten Meer hat der Rat zum Schutz der Freiheit der Schifffahrt und zur Gewährleistung der maritimen Sicherheit die Operation EUNAVFOR ASPIDES bis Februar 2027 verlängert.

La Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie du Bénin (CCI Bénin) a organisé, le mardi 24 février 2026 à son siège à Cotonou, une rencontre thématique sur le thème « Se préparer à l'export », dans le cadre de sa série de sensibilisation intitulée « Comment exporter ».

Animée par Irène ANANI AMEGBEDJI, point focal de l'activité à la CCI Bénin, la session a mis l'accent sur l'importance d'une préparation rigoureuse avant toute démarche d'exportation. Huit points clés ont été développés, notamment : l'engagement du dirigeant, le diagnostic de l'entreprise, l'étude de marché, l'adaptation du produit au marché cible, la maîtrise des règles du marché visé, le développement des compétences à l'export, l'identification des besoins de financement ainsi que les accords de distribution. Philippe TOKPANPOU, coordonnateur du PROPEX/ITC Bénin, a rappelé la nécessité d'anticiper les défis liés à l'exportation afin d'éviter les imprévus.

Les entreprises NATURA et WAPACK ont également partagé leurs expériences avec les participants. La session a connu la présence d'acteurs de l'écosystème entrepreneurial, notamment l'APIEx et l'ADPME.
Pour Rachidi LAWANI, gérant d'une société familiale, cette première rencontre a permis aux chefs d'entreprise de mieux comprendre les préalables à l'exportation. Convaincu par les connaissances acquises, il a exprimé ses remerciements à la CCI Bénin pour ses efforts en faveur de l'essor des PME au Bénin et s'est dit prêt à participer aux trois sessions restantes prévues en mai, août et novembre 2026.

Discussions will focus on industrial readiness, cooperation and long-term resilience, with particular attention to production capacity, interoperability and supply chain security.
The programme will include welcome addresses from the Chair of the Committee on Security and Defence (SEDE) and EDA leadership, followed by briefings on the Agency's engagement with industry, capability development activities and innovation initiatives. Two panel discussions will address cooperation and interoperability, and securing defence supply chains, bringing together perspectives from industry, Member States and EU institutions.

On 24 February 2026, the Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) and the Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI) held a joint public hearing on the immunity of United Nations (UN) and International Criminal Court (ICC) officials. The hearing examined the legal frameworks underpinning the privileges and immunities of international officials, in light of recent US sanctions on UN and ICC personnel.
Against the backdrop of increasing attacks on multilateralism and the international justice architecture, this event examined the scope and legal foundations of UN and ICC Officials' immunities under international law, and assessed the instruments the EU can deploy to pursue the protection of human rights and the multilateral system and shield its own nationals and the institutions they serve from extraterritorial coercion. The hearing featured Professor Cedric Ryngaert (Utrecht University), expert on jurisdictional immunities in international law, Judge Beti Hohler (International Criminal Court), Slovenian and EU national among the ICC officials targeted by US sanctions, and Mr Michael Stelzer (Head of the Sanctions Unit - European Commission's DG FISMA). Speakers and Members assessed possible EU responses to protect international institutions and their officials and reflect on the activation of the EU Blocking Statute.
