Deux individus ont été interpellés, mardi 10 août 2021, par la police Républicaine.

Les deux présumés arnaqueurs ont pour mode opératoire de présenter des ordonnances délivrées à une dame pour soutirer de l'argent à des organisations humanitaires.
La dame, épouse de l'un des deux hommes, a été hospitalisée pendant quelques jours au début du mois de juillet. Les deux présumés braqueurs qui se présentent comme des étudiants exhibent des photos de la dame sur le lit d'hôpital et sous assistance respiratoire et demandent des aides.
Ils ont réussi à soutirer ainsi de l'argent à la Fondation Omoloto Mériadeck le 30 juillet 2021. Les présumés arnaqueurs ont transférés les mêmes ordonnances à l'Ong Bénin Diaspora le 10 août 2021. Ils sollicitent de l'aide cette fois-ci pour une « sœur » qui aurait besoin de deux poches de sang. Le président de l'Ong Bénin Diaspora a contacté le directeur du Centre National Hospitalier Universitaire (Chnu) de Cotonou en faveur de la patiente. C'est là que le pot aux roses fut découvert. Selon le directeur du Cnhu, la patiente a quitté l'hôpital depuis le 11 juillet et serait même revenue le 8 août 2021 pour faire des consultations prénatales.
Le président de l'Ong Bénin Diaspora, Médard Koudébi a porté plainte pour « tentative d'extorsion de fonds et abus de confiance ». La police républicaine procède alors à l'interpellation des deux présumés arnaqueurs.
