En Ukraine, une marche des fiertés s'est tenue ce dimanche 21 juin à Kiev. Cette fois-ci, malgré la loi martiale qui interdit tout rassemblement depuis 2022, le rassemblement a été officiellement autorisé, après avoir été seulement toléré les années précédentes.

Le Premier ​ministre britannique travailliste Keir ​Starmer, notamment tenu responsable de la déroute historique du parti travailliste ⁠aux élections locales du 7 ⁠mai, a annoncé sa démission ce lundi. Il accède ainsi à la demande d'un grand nombre de ‌voix au sein de ⁠son parti pour qu'il cède la place ​à Andy Burnham, ‌le populaire maire du Grand Manchester, qui a ‌facilement remporté ​vendredi une élection législative partielle dans le nord-ouest de l'Angleterre.

A partir de ce lundi 22 juin 2026, 49 départements français sont placés « en vigilance rouge canicule ». C'est un record qui représente près de 35 millions de personnes et plus de 90% de la population française. Cette vague de chaleur exceptionnelle touche l'ensemble de l'Europe de l'Ouest avec des température extrêmes qui s'installent dans la durée.

De l'Espagne au nord de la Norvège, l'Otan a mené, du 8 au 19 juin, son plus vaste exercice aérien : Ramstein Flag 2026. Dix-huit nations se sont mobilisées pour s'entraîner à un scénario de guerre de haute intensité avec plus de 200 avions de chasse. Dans un contexte de tensions persistantes avec la Russie, les deux derniers entrants dans l'Alliance, la Suède et la Finlande, entendent démontrer l'apport stratégique du flanc nord.

La vente de carburant aux particuliers et aux entreprises est interdite depuis dimanche 21 juin au matin dans les stations-service de Crimée. Une mesure prise après des frappes ukrainiennes ayant visé la logistique militaire, l'industrie pétrolière et la défense aérienne russes dans la péninsule annexée par Moscou en 2014.

On 22 June the Subcommittee on Human Rights, in association with the Delegation to the Africa-EU Parliamentary Assembly, will examine the human rights situation in Tanzania. The discussion will take place while Tanzanian authorities have repeatedly rejected requests for a DROI mission to the country and as the European Parliament just adopted a resolution to object the draft Commission implementing decision on the financing of the 2026 annual action plan for Tanzania.

The European Parliament had previously expressed concerns regarding developments in Tanzania in two resolutions addressing the post-election killings and the imprisonment of the political opponent Tundu Lissu, and in an earlier resolution objecting the 2025 Annual Action Plan proposed by the European Commission.

The discussion will feature a panel including human right defenders as well as representatives from the Commission and the EEAS.

On Tuesday, 23 June 2026, the Subcommittee on Human Rights, will hold an exchange of views on the human rights situation in the Sahel against the background of the latest regional developments. This discussion will be the opportunity to follow-up on last year's exchange on human rights in Sahel, and to shade the light on recent developments that have significantly undermined security and accelerated the deterioration of human rights across the region.

Une attaque « à grande échelle » de drones ukrainiens a eu lieu dans la nuit de mercredi 17 à jeudi 18 juin sur Moscou, plusieurs projectiles touchant une raffinerie, a annoncé le maire de la ville. Cette annonce intervient alors que le président russe Vladimir Poutine accueille depuis mercredi soir des dirigeants asiatiques pour un sommet de deux jours Russie-Asean à Kazan, dans le centre du pays.
