To evaluate the European Union’s (EU) policy framework towards China, this study analyses the varied facets of bilateral relations and the EU’s approach towards China, including its policy of de-risking, together with issues relating to China’s domestic politics and foreign policy. It highlights the need for the EU to adopt a coherent vision and a comprehensive and consistent long-term China strategy that can guide its future actions towards China and on the world stage. Based on its findings, it also provides a series of specific recommendations for the EU on the numerous topics analysed in the study.

Les forces gouvernementales du Cameroun ont tué sept combattants d'un groupe séparatiste dans le nord-ouest du pays. C'est ce qu'a indiqué un représentant du service de sécurité du pays.

"Les séparatistes terrorisaient la population locale", a déclaré le représentant cité par l'agence de presse Xinhua. "Au cours de l'opération, les militaires ont tendu une embuscade et éliminé sept combattants".

Une insurrection séparatiste est active dans l'ouest du Cameroun, poussant à la création de son propre État basé sur les zones anglophones.

Le Conseil d'Administration de la Banque Ouest Africaine de Développement (BOAD) a autorisé ce lundi 25 mars 2024 à Dakar, lors de sa 141e session ordinaire, un prêt de 10 milliards de FCFA pour un projet de la Société Bénin Cashew SA dans la zone industrielle de Glo Djigbé (GDIZ), au Bénin.

Financement partiel d'un projet de la Société Bénin Cashew SA dans la zone industrielle de Glo Djigbé au Bénin. Le projet est relatif à la construction et l'exploitation d'un complexe agro-industriel de transformation de noix de cajou au sein de la GDIZ. Selon la BOAD, « ce projet, reflet de la volonté de l'Etat du Bénin de promouvoir la transformation locale des noix brutes de cajou, vise à créer de la valeur ajoutée à la filière ». Ledit projet permettra la construction et la mise en exploitation de cinq (05) unités industrielles de transformation de noix brutes de cajou d'une capacité nominale annuelle de 100 000 tonnes et une (01) unité industrielle d'extraction d'huile de coque de noix de cajou d'une capacité annuelle de 20 000 tonnes. La BOAD a approuvé 10 milliards de FCFA dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre de ce projet.

On March 25th, IPI hosted a Global Leaders Series event featuring H.E. Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Denmark who will present the priorities of Denmark’s candidature for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council in 2025-2026.

Minister Rasmussen currently serves as Minister for Foreign Affairs of Denmark. Prior to this appointment, he served as Prime Minister of Denmark between April 2009 – October 2011 and then again between June 2015 – June 2019. Minister Rasmussen also served as Denmark’s Minister for Finance (2007–2009) and Minister for the Interior and Health (2001–2007). He began his parliamentary career as Vice-chairman of the Liberal Party in 1998, becoming Chairman of the Liberal Party in 2009, and has been aa Member of the Folketing for The Moderates in Zealand greater constituency since 2022, Member of the Folketing for Outside the parliamentary groups in Zealand greater constituency (2021–2022), and Member of the Folketing for The Liberal Party (1994–2020). He holds a Master of Laws from the University of Copenhagen.
