Mit der in dieser Woche beginnenden Aktionswoche „Gemeinsam aus der Einsamkeit“ startet auch eine Allianz gegen die Einsamkeit, an der das Deutsche Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (DIW Berlin) beteiligt ist. Theresa Entringer, Expertin für Einsamkeit beim Sozio-oekonomischen Panel (SOEP) im DIW Berlin, begrüßt diesen Schritt:

Die Gründung einer Allianz gegen Einsamkeit ist ein wichtiger Schritt. Denn das Problem der Einsamkeit als gesellschaftspolitische Aufgabe wird bisher weit unterschätzt. Der Zusammenschluss bedeutender Verbände, Organisationen, Interessenvertretungen und Forschungseinrichtungen kann dazu beitragen, dem Thema mehr Raum im gesellschaftlichen und politischen Diskurs zu geben.

Einsamkeit ist kein rein individuelles Problem. Sie kann jeden Menschen treffen. Chronische Einsamkeit beeinträchtigt nicht nur das Wohlbefinden, sondern kann zu einem ernsthaften Gesundheitsrisiko werden, die soziale Teilhabe einschränken und den gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt schwächen. Ihre Vermeidung und Bekämpfung ist daher eine gesamtgesellschaftliche Aufgabe. Aus unserer Forschung am DIW Berlin wissen wir, dass Einsamkeit nicht allein durch persönliche Entscheidungen oder individuelles Verhalten entsteht. Auch strukturelle Lebensbedingungen spielen eine entscheidende Rolle. Die Allianz gegen Einsamkeit bietet die Chance, wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse schneller zu kommunizieren, Erfahrungen aus Forschung und Praxis zusammenzuführen und wirksame Maßnahmen zu identifizieren und umzusetzen.

Gemeinsam können wir dazu beitragen, chronische Einsamkeit sichtbar zu machen, Betroffene nicht zu stigmatisieren und wirksame Lösungen zu entwickeln. Einsamkeit betrifft uns als gesamte Gesellschaft – und wir können ihr nur gemeinsam wirksam begegnen.
