Auf der achten Tagung der Beitrittskonferenz mit Albanien, die heute in Brüssel stattfand, wurde bestätigt, dass Albanien die Zwischenziele insgesamt erfüllt hat, und es wurden Benchmarks für den Abschluss von Cluster 1 „Wesentliche Elemente" festgelegt.

Der Rat hat den Rahmen für die Sanktionen, die auf jene abzielen, die für schwere Menschenrechtsverletzungen oder ‑verstöße, für Repressionen gegen die Zivilgesellschaft und die demokratische Opposition in Russland verantwortlich sind, um ein Jahr – bis zum 28. Mai 2027 – verlängert.
