German chancellor Angela Merkel confirmed on Wednesday that she was targeted by hackers thought to be Russian military intelligence (GRU). Germany's Der Spiegel magazine reported that GRU had obtained emails from her constituency office in a hacking attack in 2015. "Honestly, it hurts me," Merkel said, and described the attack as "outrageous". Merkel added that she would continue to "strive for good relations with Russia".

The EU Fundamental Rights Agency's annual report says the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex (LGBTI) people has not improved overall in the past seven years. The agency surveyed some 140,000 people, the largest of its kind when it comes to the LGBTI community. "Too many LGBTI people continue to live in the shadows, afraid of being ridiculed, discriminated or even attacked," said FRA director Michael O'Flahert.

Chinese authorities are preparing to test 11 million people in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province, after a small outbreak this week, the Guardian writes. Fearful of another outbreak and a return to the draconian lockdowns, the authorities are drawing up plans for "10 days of battle", directing each district of Wuhan to develop and submit plans to test all their citizens.

A French court has dropped all charges against an olive farmer, Cedric Herrou, who helped migrants enter the country illegally after the constitutional council said Herrou's actions were not a crime under the "principle of fraternity". He helped about 200 people cross from Italy into southern France, and set up camp for them in his home. Herrou was given a four-month suspended sentence in August 2017.

A szóvivő a TASZSZ-nak azt mondta, hogy több mint egy hónappal ezelőtt találkozott személyesen Vlagyimir Putyinnal. A SARS-CoV-2 koronavírust az orosz államvezetés tagjai közül eddig Mihail Misusztyin miniszterelnök, valamint Olga Ljubimova kulturális és Vlagyimir Jakusev építésügyi miniszter szervezetében mutatták ki. Misusztyint kórházban, Ljubimovát pedig otthonában kezelik. Jakusevet már gyógyultnak nyilvánították.

Április 29-én felröppent olyan hír is, amely szerint az orosz elnöki apparátus helyettes vezetője, Szergej Kirijenko is megfertőződött, de későbbi híradások szerint nála a megismételt teszt negatív eredményt mutatott.

Peszkov megbetegedése azon a napon vált ismertté, amikor Oroszország a második helyre lépett előre a világ “Covid 19-toplistáján”, és amikor Putyin rendeletének értelmében megszűnt a járvány terjedésének lelassítása érdekében hat héttel korábban elrendelt országos kényszerszabadság. Igaz, ezt a döntést az elnök a régiókban bevezetett karanténintézkedések fenntartása mellett hozta meg.

A fővárosban, Moszkva megyében és Szentpéterváron keddtől még szigorítottak is a járványügyi óvintézkedéseken.

A Putyin egyészségi állapotával kapcsolatos aggályok először akkor erősödtek fel, amikor április elején kiderült, hogy megfertőződött Gyenyisz Procenko főorvos, aki március 24-én körbevezette az államfőt a kommunarkai járványkórházban. Maga a szóvivő egyébként Procenko lebetegedését követően egy darabig “vírusblokkolót” – egy jelvényszerű, klórdioxidot kibocsátó légtisztítót – hordott a zakója hajtókáján, amit aztán elhagyott, amikor a sajtóban kérdések merültek fel az eszköz hatékonyságával kapcsolatban.

Sajtójelentések szerint egyébként kedden kórházba került az elnöki szóvivő felesége, Tatyjana Navka olimpiai bajnok műkorcsolyázó, jégtáncos is.

Sikorsky won a $29.9 million modification, which provides for rate tooling, physical configuration audits, associated systems engineering and program management in support of CH-53K aircraft production. The CH-53K King Stallion is a large heavy-lift cargo helicopter designed to replace the Marine Corps CH-53E to move Marines from ships to attack beaches. Back in April, it was reported that the aircraft successfully plugged into a funnel-shaped drogue towed behind a KC-130J during aerial refueling wake testing over the Chesapeake Bay. The CH-53K sea-based, long range, helicopter is designed to provide three times the lift capability of its predecessor. The CH-53K will conduct expeditionary heavy-lift transport of armored vehicles, equipment, and personnel to support distributed operations deep inland from a sea-based center of operations, Sikorsky officials say. It can lift more than 18 tons. Work will take place in Connecticut, Utah, Michigan, Kansas, Washington, New York and Nebraska. Estimated completion will be by December 2023.

United Technologies won a $10.6 million modification, which procures one low rate initial production Lot 11 afloat spares package kit for the Marine Corps in support of the F-35 Lightning II combat aircraft program. In the meantime a congressional watchdog group is concerned that as Lockheed Martin ramps up F-35 production, its suppliers are falling behind. According to the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the number of F-35 parts delivered late skyrocketed from less than 2,000 in August 2017 to upward of 10,000 in July 2019. The number of parts shortages per month also climbed from 875 in July 2018 to more than 8,000 in July 2019. More than 60 percent of that sum was concentrated among 20 suppliers, it said. Work under the current modification will take place in Connecticut, Indiana, Maine, Georgia, Illinois, Arizona, the UK and Israel. Estimated completion date is in September 2021.

Middle East & Africa

The Idaho Air National Guard’s 190th Fighter Squadron deployed to the Middle East on May 11. The personnel left on that day and the A-10s departed one day later. More than 400 members of the 124th Fighter Wing, based at Gowen Field, will continue to deploy throughout the spring and summer in support of Operations FREEDOM’S SENTINEL, INHERENT RESOLVE and NEW NORMAL. The deployment is the wing’s second largest deployment and includes multiple aircraft, pilots, security forces, maintenance and medical personnel, and various other support staff.

The US Africa Command announced on May 12 that Logistics Advisor Team 1610, 6th Battalion, 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade earlier this year delivered a three-week long vehicle maintenance and recovery course in Dakar, Senegal. According to AFRICOM the course is to prepare the Senegalese Armed Forces as they support United Nations Peacekeeping Operations. The 1st SFAB’s operations in Africa have been interrupted by the coronavirus, but the unit will continue working with US Army Africa and the US State Department once conditions allow advisors to return, AFRICOM officials said.

Europe

The Royal Air Force is in talks with British Airways, British Airline Pilots’ Association and other aerospace companies for civilian pilots made redundant due to COVID-19 to be seconded to the military for 18 to 48 months. Pilots who had switched from military to civilian careers are likely to be sought after to fill vacancies. The BALPA said the talks are still “exploratory” while a spokesperson from the RAF said the service has “always interested in recruiting high quality people and are currently in initial discussions with the UK aviation industry on the possibility of employing suitable available personnel.”

Asia-Pacific

The South Korean military conducted the first test-firing of its new Hyunmoo-4 ballistic missile in the middle of march, some two-and-a-half years after Washington and Seoul had agreed to scrap the warhead weight limit for South Korean missiles stipulated in US-South Korean guidelines. The Hyunmoo-4 is thought to be a solid-propellant rocket. has been reported to carry a payload as large as 2 tons to ranges of up to 800 kilometers. Testing was overseen by the Agency for Defense Development, South Korea’s indigenous defense research and development organization.

Jár az összesen mintegy százmillió forint kártérítés annak a közel hatvan gyöngyöspatai felperesnek, aki a cigány etnikai kisebbséghez tartozó tanulók jogellenes elkülönítése és alacsonyabb szintű oktatása miatt indított személyiségi jogi pert – mondta ki a Kúria.

Megállapította, hogy az alkalmazandó törvény alapján nem vagyoni károk megtérítésénél a kártérítés megítélésének egyetlen módja a pénzbeli kártérítés, természetbeni kártérítés alkalmazására nincs jogszabályi lehetőség. Pénzbeli kártérítés, pótlólagos képzéssel való kiváltására csak a felek peren kívüli megállapodása esetén kerülhet sor.

A Kúria közleménye tartalmazza, hogy a koronavírus-járvány miatt tárgyaláson kívül meghozott keddi ítélet hatályába fenntartotta a Debreceni Ítélőtábla korábbi, jelen eljárásban felülvizsgálati kérelemmel támadott jogerős ítéletét. A tábla korábbi döntésében kötelezte az alpereseket – a helyi önkormányzatot, az érintett általános iskolát és az illetékes tankerületi központot – a mintegy 100 millió forint nem vagyoni kártérítés megfizetésére a személyiségi jogsértés miatt.

Az alperesek a tábla ítélete ellen benyújtott felülvizsgálati kérelmükben azt kérték a Kúriától: pénzfizetés helyett természetben, az általuk felajánlott pótlólagos képzés, oktatás formájában teljesíthessék kártérítési kötelezettségüket. Abban az esetben pedig, ha erre nem lenne lehetőség, a helyi önkormányzat a nem vagyoni kártérítés összegének mérséklését kérte.

A Kúria a felülvizsgálati kérelmeket nem találta alaposnak.

A Kúria a nem vagyoni kártérítés összegének csökkentésére sem látott alapot, mert azt a másodfokú bíróság helyes mérlegeléssel a per összes körülményének értékelése, valamint a bírói gyakorlatban kialakult szempontok figyelembevétele alapján kellően megindokoltan állapította meg – áll a Kúria közleményében.

Talán az idei év legeredményesebb véradási eseménye volt a Budapesti Rendőr-főkapitányság központi szervei által május 7-én szervezett véradás – mondta Ohnsorge Éva.

Az Országos Vérellátó Szolgálat (OVSZ) véradásszervezője hozzátette, az eseményen 250-en, az elmúlt héten pedig összesen 6755-en adtak vért. Jelenleg is 45 helyszínen szerveznek véradásokat országszerte, a helyek és időpontok a www.ovsz.hu és a veradas.hu oldalon követhetők.

A véradásszervező kitért arra is, hogy egyre többen élnek az irányított véradás lehetőségével, amelyre minden magyarországi véradó ponton van mód.
