Három-négyezer menekült tartózkodik jelenleg a lengyel határ fehérorosz oldalán, a nap folyamán több csoportos határsértési kísérletet sikerült meghiúsítani, a helyzet további kiéleződése várható – közölte Piotr Müller lengyel kormányszóvivő.

Aljakszandr Lukasenka fehérorosz elnök rezsimje szervezett módon irányítja a lengyel határhoz a menekültek csoportjait – foglalta össze a legújabb történéseket Müller az Andrzej Duda elnök, Mateusz Morawiecki kormányfő és az illetékes miniszterek tanácskozását követő sajtóértekezleten.

A tanácskozást, valamint a válságstáb ezt megelőző ülését amiatt hívták össze, hogy hétfőn megkezdődött a Fehéroroszország felől érkező illegális bevándorlók nagy csoportjának erőszakos behatolási kísérlete lengyel területre. Müller beszámolója szerint a lengyel határőrség és az őt támogató katonák és rendőrök egyelőre meghiúsították ezt a kísérletet.

Közvetlenül a lengyel határnál jelenleg három-négyezer nyomorult tartózkodik, emellett a lengyel titkosszolgálatok információi szerint Fehéroroszországon belül legalább tíz-húszezer további illegális bevándorló készül a határ átlépésére, közben Minszk folyamatosan újabb migránscsoportok szállítását szervezi az arab országokból – mondta el a szóvivő.

Bejelentette, hogy megnövelik a lengyel-fehérorosz határszakaszt védő határőrök, katonák és rendőrök létszámát. Jelenleg a határőröket mintegy tízezer katona támogatja.

A lengyel közszolgálati televízióban közzétett, drónokkal készített videofelvételek szerint a menekültek alkonyatkor sátrakat vertek és tüzeket raktak a határon. Láthatók a felvételeken drótkerítést átvágó illegális bevándorlók is, akikkel szemben a határőrök könnygázt alkalmaznak.

Az illegális menekülteket kísérő fehérorosz fegyveresek részéről a határon számos provokációra került már sor – mondta Müller. A közeljövőben az ilyen cselekmények eszkalálódása várható, fegyverhasználatra is sor kerülhet – jelentette ki. Szólt arról is, hogy a lengyel fél “csak végső esetben folyamodna fegyverhasználathoz”.

Közölte továbbá: a helyzetről hétfő este a lengyel kormányfő telefonon egyeztet lett és litván hivatali partnerével.

A sajtóértekezleten szintén részt vevő Pawel Soloch, a lengyel államfői hivatalon belül működő nemzetbiztonsági iroda főnöke elmondta: az elnök és a kormányfő a jelenlegi válság különféle megoldásait fontolgatják, folyamatosan kapcsolatban vannak az európai uniós és a NATO-partnerekkel. Hangsúlyozta annak fontosságát, hogy Minszk ellen újabb szankciókat vessenek ki.

Elmondta, hogy Duda a litván és a georgiai elnökkel konzultált a helyzetről, és meg fogja vitatni az ügyet Zuzana Caputová szlovák államfővel is. A lengyel elnök hétfőn indult volna szlovákiai látogatásra, a legújabb fejlemények miatt viszont módosították a programját, lerövidítve látogatását.
