Lockheed Martin Space won a $25.7 million contract modification for Trident II (D5) missile production and deployed systems support. Work will be performed in Utah,Colorado, California, Florida and various places below one percent (0.2%). Work is expected to be completed July 1, 2025. The Trident II Strategic Weapon System (SWS) is deployed aboard Ohio-class (Trident) submarines and consists of: the Trident II (D5) Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM); Reentry System; and supporting Shipboard Systems.

The Pentagon announced on August 1 that the L3Harris and Air Tractor team has won the Armed Overwatch program. Armed Overwatch will provide Special Operations Forces deployable, affordable, and sustainable crewed aircraft systems fulfilling close air support, precision strike, and armed intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, requirements in austere and permissive environments for use in irregular warfare operations in support of the National Defense Strategy. The contract will be a mixture of firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, time and materials, and cost reimbursement no-fee for the procurement of up to 75 aircraft, training systems, mission planning systems, support equipment, spares, and logistics support, with a period of performance from July 2022 to July 2029, including all options.

Middle East & Africa

Rolls-Royce won an $854.3 million deal provides depot-level engine repair services for the AE2100 D3 engine on the C/KC-130 aircraft in support of the Marine Corps and the government of Kuwait. Work will take place in Canada, Portugal, Texas and Indiana. Expected completion will be in July 2027.

The Black Eagles have arrived in Egypt and the team is expected to give a flight demonstration. The South Korean aerobatic team arrived Monday at an Egyptian air base to take part in the Pyramids Air Show 2022. The 53rd Air Demonstration Group, nicknamed the Black Eagles, is the flight display team of the Republic of Korea Air Force based at Wonju, Gangwon Province.

Europe

The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Greece of follow-on support and sustainment of S-70 helicopters for an estimated cost of $162.07 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale. The requested S-70 follow-on support and sustainment includes aircraft spares, repair parts, consumables, components and accessories to support S-70B/S-70B6 aircraft, existing radar and gun mount procurement.

Asia-Pacific

According to a report from Taiwan’s Up Media, the Navy has deployed its Kidd-class destroyers and Perry-class frigates to the island’s northeast corner as the country prepare for the arrival of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her delegation. The warships will provide air defense coverage with their radars and anti-air missiles. The Ministry of National Defense also announced this morning that the military will enter an “intensified combat readiness guidance period.” The order takes effect from 0800 hrs local time on Aug. 2 and will end at 1200 hrs on the 4th. During this period, Taiwan will not increase combat readiness levels or increase its combat forces. Rather, the military will strengthen the monitoring of the Taiwan Straits and be ready to deploy troops in the shortest period of time.

Yemen's warring parties agreed to extend a four-month long truce just hours before it was due to expire, the UN envoy announced Tuesday, vowing to "intensify" efforts to secure lasting peace.

Az orosz-amerikai diplomáciai kapcsolatok megszakításához vezethet, ha az Egyesült Államok terrorizmust támogató országnak minősíti Oroszországot – jelentett ki Marija Zaharova, az orosz külügyminisztérium szóvivője.

A szóvivő naivnak nevezte az amerikai politikusokat, ha azt hiszik, saját jogszabályaiknak a “nemzetközi joggal ellentétes alkalmazásával” rákényszeríthetik Oroszországot arra, hogy az Egyesült Államok által kitalált szabályokon alapuló világrend szerint éljen. Minden hatás ellenhatást vált ki. Egy ilyen lépés logikus következménye lehet a diplomáciai kapcsolatok megszakítása is. Ezen túl Washington azt is kockáztatja, hogy átlépi a pontot, ahonnan nincs visszaút – mondta Zaharova.

“Ezzel Washingtonnak tisztában kell lennie. Mi készen állunk a helyzet bármilyen alakulására, és ha Washington úgy dönt, hogy teljesen leállítja a Moszkvával való együttműködést, mi túléljük” – tette hozzá. A szóvivő azt mondta, hogy az amerikai törvényhozók úgy érzik, már minden szankciós eszközt kimerítettek, ezért kezdeményezték, Oroszország átminősítését terrorizmust támogató országgá. Washingtonnak nincs elég hatalma ahhoz, hogy fellépjen a saját maga által terroristának minősített rezsimek ellen – közölte.

Az amerikai szenátus július 27-én határozatban szólította fel a külügyminisztériumot, hogy Oroszország kerüljön fel a terrorizmust támogató országok listájára. Korábban Kijev kezdeményezte ugyanezt. Az amerikai politikusok felszólításukat Oroszország ukrajnai, csecsenföldi, grúziai és szíriai beavatkozásaival indokolták. Július 28-án amerikai képviselők jelezték, hogy hasonló kétpárti kezdeményezésre készülnek az alsóházban.

A terrorizmust támogató országok listáján olyan államok szerepelnek, amelyek Washington szerint több alkalommal támogattak nemzetközi terrorcselekményeket. Zaharova kijelentette: az Egyesült Államoknak el kell döntenie, készen áll-e arra, hogy a hadászati stabilitásról az egyenjogúság alapján tárgyaljon Oroszországgal.

A szóvivő az orosz külügyi tárca nemtetszését nyilvánította ki amiatt, hogy az Auschwitz-Brirkenau náci német haláltábor helyén létesített emlékmúzeum lengyel vezetése, Moszkva értesítése nélkül, bezárta a Nagy Honvédő Háború Központi Múzeuma által létesített kiállítást, amelynek szerződése áprilisban lejárt.

Az intézmény igazgatósága kitért a szerződés újratárgyalása elől a moszkvai múzeummal – mondta Zaharova, aki ezt Varsónak a szovjet nép “felszabadító küldetése” és az általa meghozott kolosszális áldozatok emlékezetének kiirtására irányuló “cinikus kísérleteként” minősítette.

A Nancy Pelosi amerikai képviselőházi elnök tervezett tajvani látogatása miatt kialakul kínai-amerikai feszültségről Telegram-bejegyzésben fejtette ki álláspontját a szóvivő. Zaharova provokátorállamnak nevezte az Amerikai Egyesült Államokat, és közölte: az amerikaiak megsértik Kína másfél milliárd lakosát. Ugyanebben az ügyben Moszkva megértéséről és “abszolút szolidaritásáról” biztosította Pekinget Dmitrij Peszkov, a Kreml szóvivője.

Une banque implantée au Bénin a écopé, le 20 juin 2022, d'une double sanction disciplinaire et pécuniaire infligée par la Commission Bancaire de l'UMOA (Union Monétaire Ouest-Africaine).
Lors de 128e tenue le 20 juin 2022, la Commission Bancaire de l'UMOA a sanctionné une banque implantée au Bénin pour des infractions aux textes légaux et réglementaires applicables aux établissements de crédit de l'UMOA, constatées à l'issue d'une mission de vérification effectuée auprès de la banque concernée.
Les irrégularités constatées par la mission de vérification portent sur la gouvernance, la gestion des risques de crédit, de liquidité et opérationnel, aux relations financières extérieures ainsi qu'à la lutte contre le blanchiment de capitaux et le financement du terrorisme.
Au regard des infractions constatées, la Commission Bancaire de l'UMOA a infligé une « sanction pécuniaire de deux cent (200) millions de francs CFA à la banque, au regard des infractions susmentionnées qui relèvent des première et deuxième catégories, conformément aux dispositions de l'Instruction n°006-05-2018 du 16 mai 2018 fixant les modalités d'application des sanctions pécuniaires prononcées par la Commission Bancaire de l'UMOA à l'encontre des établissements de crédit de l'UMOA ».
La Commission Bancaire de l'UMOA a été créée par une convention signée par les Ministres des Finances des Etats membres de l'UMOA le 24 avril 1990 à Ouagadougou, dans le but de "contribuer à assurer une surveillance uniforme et plus efficace de l'activité bancaire et une intégration de l'espace bancaire dans l'UMOA".
