Flavio Briatore spricht offen wie nie über die gemeinsame Tochter mit Heidi Klum - und dass es ihm nicht möglich war, eine Beziehung zu Leni aufzubauen.

Was alle schon jahrelang vermuteten, wurde nun endlich bestätigt. Heidi Klums (43) Ex-Partner, der ehemalige Formel-1-Manager Flavio Briatore (66), sagt gegenüber der italienischen Zeitung «Il Corriere della Sera»: «Leni ist meine leibliche Tochter.»

Klum und Briatore waren im März 2003 kurz zusammen, trennten sich allerdings, als das Model mit seinem ersten Kind schwanger war. Leni kam im Mai 2004 zur Welt.

«Leni wurde geboren, als Heidi und ich uns bereits getrennt hatten.» Heidi lebte in dieser Zeit in Los Angeles, während der Geschäftsmann in London weilte. «Die Entfernung zwischen uns war unüberbrückbar.» Zwar habe er oft mit Leni telefoniert, konnte aber keine enge Bindung zu seiner Tochter aufbauen. «Es ist schwer ein Baby zu vermissen, das man nie sieht.»

Seal zog Leni auf

Klum kam dann mit Sänger Seal (53) zusammen, der Leni aufzog. «Wir haben entschieden, dass es mehr Sinn macht, wenn Seal sie adoptiert» so Briatore, «weil ein Kind in einer Familie aufwachsen muss. Heidi, Seal und ich haben eine wunderbare Beziehung aufgebaut.»

Mit ihrem Ex-Partner Seal hat Klum drei Kinder: Henry (11), Johan (10) und die kleine Lou (7).  Die Ehe zwischen Seal und Klum wurde im Oktober 2015 geschieden. Inzwischen ist sie glücklich mit dem 30-jährigen Kunsthändler Vito Schnabel zusammen. Briatore wurde im März 2010 erneut Vater, seine Ehefrau Elisabetta brachte einen Sohn zur Welt. (paf)

The man who killed a priest in a small village of Normandy was under police electronic surveillance during the assault.

France woke up to another terrorist attack in a small town in Normandy on Tuesday, but attention is now focusing on one of the two assailants of the brutal assault.

Two assailant were shot dead by the police, but not before they had forced an 85-year old priest on his knees and slit the throat.

According to one of the nuns that the two terrorists used as human shield, Sister Danielle, the two men ritualized and recorded the murder.

The killing of Father Jacques Hamel in the small town of Rouvray near Rouen, shocked France: neither the place nor the target seemed likely.

Major urban centers seemed the target of choice.

Attention is now on the profile of the assailants and the possible political reactions.

The murderer of Father Hamel was not only well-known to authorities but actually fitted with an electronic tag at the time of the attack. He was the 19-year old Adel Kermiche. His accomplice was his 17-year old brother.

The brothers were local and the elder brother had been arrested trying to make his way to fight for the Islamic State in Syria.

Denounced by his family, he was first arrested in Germany in March 2015, when he was placed under judicial supervision. Then he tried again via Turkey in May 2015, when he was again detained and returned to France.

He was released in March 2016 on condition he wore an electronic tag and remain at home, except for week hours from 08.00 to 12.30. The attack occurred at 09.00, local time.

The so-called “news agency” of IS (Amaq) claimed responsibility for the attack.

political reactions

Reactions are mixed.

On the one hand, the regional Imam, Mohammad Karabila, denounced the “odious act” of a man he called “my friend”; the Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi. Rouen’s Catholic archbishop, Dominique Lebrun, called for unity and common prayer. President Hollande is to lead on Wednesday an interfaith meeting; he warned on Tuesday that the target of terrorism is democracy itself and called for unity.

On the other hand, the former President and current candidate Nicolas Sarkozy called for a “merciless” reaction, admonishing the Socialist government for being soft on its fight against terrorism. “There is no more time to be wasted,” Sarkozy said. Far-right leader Marine Le Pen also bided for a hardline position, suggesting mainstream parties failed on security.

July 26, 2016 (NEW YORK) – The United Nations (UN) has warned the leadership of the war-ravaged South Sudan over its recent decision to replace Riek Machar, with Taban Deng Gai, as First Vice President, saying this was a violation to the peace agreement.

Machar, who has continued to command the political and military leaderships of the armed opposition faction of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement SPLM-IO, was decreed out by President Salva Kiir and replaced with Gai.

Gai said he was endorsed by the SPLM-IO leadership currently in Juba. But this was dismissed by Machar's officials because only five members of the leadership reportedly endorsed him in violation of the peace agreement.

"Any political appointments need to be consistent with the provisions outlined in the peace agreement," said Farhan Haq, UN's spokesperson at a briefing to reporters in New York on Tuesday.

The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), which mediated the peace agreement signed in August 2015, has not publicly reacted to the events in Juba, owing to more planned measures against the leadership in South Sudan, observers said.

"We call on all parties to ensure that the ceasefire is maintained and that any divisions within the opposition or between the parties be dealt with peacefully through dialogue," UN spokesperson Haq added.

Taban Deng Gai, was sworn in on Tuesday as First Vice President, and vowed to fully cooperate with president Kiir including scrapping many provisions in the peace deal.

ONE ARMY

Gai declared his willingness to cancel one of the major provisions in the peace deal, which he himself negotiated for two years, Gai said there is no need for two armies in one country and told the President that the SPLA-IO army will immediately be reintegrated into President Kiir's army, the SPLA.

This would imply that the security arrangements needed for at least 18 months and implementation of the security sector reform would no longer be needed to reunify the two armies as required by the peace agreement.

However, officials of the opposition faction led by Machar dismissed Gai's assertions, saying he said it because he knew he had no army to stay separate. They dismissed Gai's comment as coming from someone who has no say over the SPLA-IO army.

The top leadership of the SPLA-IO including its chief of general staff, General Simon Gatwech Daul, and his deputies are currently with Machar and have confirmed firm support behind him.

Also, SPLM-IO's governor of Unity state, General Kuol Ruai and SPLA-IO's military sector commander in Gai's home state of Unity state, General Simon Maguek, have come out with statements, dismissing Gai's statements that he was in contact with the commanders, saying Gai had no army or any support in the SPLA-IO forces.

MAINTAIN CEASEFIRE

Meanwhile, the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon has called on South Sudan's rival parties to ensure that the ceasefire is maintained and that any divisions within the opposition, or between the parties are dealt with peacefully through dialogue.

The UN, a spokesperson said, will continue working with the Transitional Government of National Unity and all stakeholders in support of the implementation of the peace agreement for the benefit of South Sudanese, as mandated by the Security Council.

The changes, analysts say, contravenes the peace agreement signed by both Kiir and Machar.

Ide kapcsolódik az Afrika jelentette problémakör, ahol Líbia – egy tragikusan végződött “demokráciaexport” után – átjáróházzá változott Fekete-Afrika számára.
Németh Zsolt szavai szerint ugyanakkor az Európai Unió válaszadási képességét a közösségen belüli rendetlenség is befolyásolja, ráadásul az új problémaként megjelent brit kilépés eltereli a figyelmet a kihívásokról.
Az új helyzet bizonytalanságot és félelmet teremt az unión belül, a kihívásokra pedig az Európai Bizottság sokszor agresszív, intoleráns és türelmetlen, jogsértő válaszokat adott – tette hozzá.
“A kérdés az, hogy mi tudunk-e jó válaszokat adni, és hogyan tudjuk a nemzeti, regionális érdekeinket ebben a helyzetben érvényesíteni. Az egyik célkitűzésünk, hogy a rossz migrációs válaszra egyértelmű nemet mondjunk október 2-án” – mondta a kvótareferendumra utalva.
A politikus arról is beszélt, hogy a Brexit után új lendületet kapott az a föderalista európai jövőkép, amely a végkifejletet egyfajta európai egyesült államokban képzeli el. Ez azonban a jelenlegi helyzetben csak olaj a tűzre, ha a Brexitre is rossz választ ad Európai Bizottság, az szétvetheti az európai integrációt – fűzte hozzá.
