A lengyel jogállamiság “romlásáról” szóló plenáris vita keretében a biztos hangsúlyozta: a bizottság “lépéseket” tett a jogállamiság betartásának biztosítása érdekében Lengyelországban, egyebek között a lengyel bíróságok függetlenségének védelmét célzó eljárásokat indított. Kötelezettségszegési eljárás folyik amiatt is, hogy az országban “LMBTI-mentes övezeteket” vezettek be egyes helyi önkormányzatok.

Szkínász szerint az “LMBTI-mentes övezeteknek” nincs helyük az EU-ban, nem egyeztethetőek össze az európai társadalmi modellel.

A lengyel abortuszjogok korlátozásával kapcsolatban elmondta: az EU-ban minden nőnek joga van a magas szintű egészségügyi ellátáshoz, ez magában foglalja a reproduktív egészséget. Hozzátette, a brüsszeli testület kész arra, hogy az uniós szerződésekben beágyazott hatáskörét felhasználva biztosítsa az uniós jogszabályok integritását és sérthetetlenségét.
