Campagne cotonnière 2024/2025 : Une baisse de 26% de la production du coton conventionnel enregistrée

Au cours de l'hebdomadaire conseil des ministres du 19 février 2025, le ministre de l'Industrie, du commerce et de l'artisanat, Serge G. Poda, a fait le bilan à mi-parcours de la campagne cotonnière 2024/2025.

Les résultats provisoires de la campagne 2024/2025 pour ce qui est du coton conventionnel en fin janvier 2025, s'établissent à 286 623 tonnes contre 386 794 tonnes en 2023/2024. On note donc une baisse de 26% par rapport à celle de la campagne 2023/2024. Par contre, le rendement moyen connaitrait une amélioration et s'établirait à 827 kg/ha. Pour ce qui est de la production spécifique du coton graine biologique, le volume prévisionnel attendu est de 942 tonnes avec un rendement moyen attendu de 372 kg/ha.

La baisse de la production du coton conventionnel est constatée malgré la subvention visant à rendre les intrants accessibles aux producteurs et qui s'élève à 39,512 milliards F CFA.
