Plenáris ülés : Hogyan lehet felszámolni az akadályokat a digitális gazdaság fejlődésének útjából? Ez volt a téma május 19-én az EP-ben, amikor a képviselők Andrus Ansip európai bizottsági alelnökkel vitatták meg az európai digitális belső piac kiépítésének terveit. Az Európai Bizottság május 6-án ismertette az erről szóló stratégiát, amire most az EP szakbizottságai készítenek választ. A digitális egységes piaccal június 25–26-án az uniós csúcson is foglalkoznak az állam- és kormányfők.

Séance plénière : Des mesures visant à améliorer la sécurité des patients, notamment en s'attaquant à la résistance croissante aux antibiotiques humains et vétérinaires et en promouvant l'innovation ont été fixées dans une résolution votée mardi. Les députés constatent qu'entre 8 et 12% des patients admis dans les hôpitaux de l'UE souffrent d'effets secondaires indésirables comme des infections nosocomiales, impliquées dans près de 37.000 décès par an, et qui pèsent sur les budgets limités des services de santé.

Plenartagung : Am Dienstag hat das Parlament eine Entschließung verabschiedet, in der es Maßnahmen zur Verbesserung der Patientensicherheit vorschlägt, etwa durch die Bewältigung der zunehmenden Resistenzen gegen Antibiotika in der Human- und Veterinärmedizin. Die Abgeordneten empfehlen des Weiteren einen verantwortungsvollen Einsatz von Antibiotika und die Förderung von Innovation.

The promotion of gender equality was among the challenges faced by Roma and Sinti women that were the focus of a consultation meeting for Roma and Sinti women activists at the Warsaw headquarters of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) on 18 and 19 May 2015.

The meeting brought together 12 Roma and Sinti women activists from OSCE participating States to discuss gender mainstreaming and gender targeting in ODIHR’s activities focusing on Roma and Sinti communities.

“The OSCE Action Plan on Improving the Situation of Roma and Sinti acknowledges the particular situation of Roma and Sinti women, and calls for systematic mainstreaming of Roma women’s issues in all relevant areas of Roma integration,” said Beatriz Balbin, First Deputy Director of ODIHR. “This consultation meeting enables us not only to receive direct feedback from women activists on our work with Roma and Sinti, but also input as to how ODIHR can better champion gender equality by taking into account the specific needs of diverse communities.”

During the consultation meeting, participants also discussed how to improve co-operation and co-ordination between the civil society and intergovernmental organizations.

“Providing role models and success stories for Romani women activists is crucial in changing attitudes and behaviours towards women’s issues in Roma communities,” said Nesime Salioska, a Roma activist from the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. “The OSCE should continue to support Roma women activists in their efforts to network and mobilize stakeholders to confront the obstacles they face in the context of gender equality.”

Les députés européens se sont penchés sur ces questions lors d'un débat avec le Vice-Président de la Commission européenne Andrus Ansip en session plénière le 19 mai. La Commission a présenté une stratégie le 6 mai et le Parlement y répondra par un rapport de sa propre initiative rédigé par plusieurs commissions parlementaires. Le marché unique numérique est également à l'ordre du jour du Conseil de juin.

A mai napon, 2015. május 19-én, helyi idő szerint 13 óra 40 perc körül balesetet szenvedett a Magyar Légierő egyik kétüléses (42) JAS-39D Gripen vadászgépe a Lion Effort 2015 hadgyakorlaton, a Cseh Légierő Čáslav-i légibázisán. Az elérhető információ még igen kevés, annyi azonban már tudható, hogy pilótáink (Ugrik Csaba dandártábornok és Gróf Gergely őrnagy)  jól vannak. Az első, megjelent hírekkel ellentétben a Gripen nem lezuhant, hanem a leszállás során szenvedett balesetet.
