Plenáris ülés : Az EP elnöke az ülés kezdetén egy perc csendet rendelt el a 300 halálos áldozattal járó augusztus 24-i olaszországi földrengés áldozataiért. A katasztrófa 70 települést rongált meg és 3000 embert tett földönfutóvá.

Civil Liberties Committee MEPs will quiz UK candidate Commissioner for the Security Union Sir Julian King in Strasbourg on Monday evening to assess his candidature. Based on the committee’s recommendation, Parliament’s Conference of Presidents (EP President and political group leaders) will then decide whether to close the hearing procedure after which the full House can take a vote on Thursday.

Általános : Jean-Claude Juncker bizottsági elnök szeptember 14-én tarja meg évértékelő beszédét Strasbourgban. Az ezt követő plenáris vitán az EP-képviselők az Unió helyzetét és jövőjét vitatják meg a Bizottság elnökével, és olyan kulcskérdésekkel foglalkoznak, mint a Brexit, az EU gazdasági problémái, a menekültválság és a terrorfenyegetettség. The European Parliament should give its consent to the ratification of the 2015 Paris agreement on climate change, recommended Environment Committee MEPs on Thursday. They also urged all EU member states to conclude the ratification process, to ensure its rapid entry into force. In a separate resolution, they also called on the EU to upgrade its emission reduction pledges, so as to close the gap between the individual targets agreed by the Parties and the Paris goals.

Általános : Hogyan kezelnék a fiatalok a korosztályukat érintő főbb problémákat, mint a munkanélküliség, a háború, vagy a fenntarthatóság az EU-ban? Az EP májusi ifjúsági rendezvényén (EYE 2016) Strasbourgban több ezer fiatal gyűlt össze, hogy megvitassák az EU előtt álló kihívásokat. Legfontosabb ötleteiket egy jelentésben foglalták össze, amelyet átadtak az EP-képviselőknek, hogy azokat az uniós jogszabályok kidolgozásakor is figyelembe vegyék.

Általános : A tagállamoknak el kell foganiuk, hogy az uniós szabályok szerint illegális, ha adókedvezményekkel próbálják az országba csalogatni a cégeket. Ezeket a szabályokat pedig maguk a tagállamok állították fel - mondta Markus Feber (néppárti, német), a tagállami adómegállapításokat vizsgáló bizottság tagja, miután az Európai Bizottság megbüntette az írországi Apple-t. Az EP-képviselő szerint a Parlament összes frakciója egyöntetűen támogatja Margrethe Vestager uniós biztost ebben az ügyben. Interjú.

A conference with national parliaments on the Future Financing of the European Union will take place in the European Parliament premises in Brussels on 7-8 September 2016. The Conference will be an important milestone in the work of the High Level Group on Own Resources, providing the forum for an in-depth discussion with national parliaments on how the EU should be financed in the future.

Általános : Folytatódik a dízelbotrány vizsgálata az EP-ben, hétfőn az autók károsanyag-kibocsátási tesztjeiről kérdezi Janez Potočnik és Antonio Tajani volt uniós biztosokat az EP vizsgálóbizottsága. Szerdán és csütörtökön az EP-képviselők a tagállamok parlamentjeinek képviselőivel egyeztetnek az EU jövőbeni finanszírozásáról Brüsszelben. A frakciók a jövő heti plenáris ülést készítik elő, amelyen Jean-Claude Juncker bizottsági elnök megtartja évértékelő beszédét és beszél az Unió jövőjéről.

Általános : Puccskísérlet, terrortámadások, háború a határ túloldalán és mintegy 3 millió menekült – Törökország maga, de az EU-hoz fűződő kapcsolata is komoly nehézségekkel küzd. Míg az ország a vízumkövetelmények enyhítését várná a török állampolgárokkal szemben és a migrációs megállapodás felbontásával fenyegeti az Uniót, addig az EU-s tagállamok ragaszkodnak hozzá, hogy teljesítse a vízummentesség követelményeit és aggódnak a halálbüntetés esetleges bevezetéséért Törökországban.

Parliament will evaluate Commissioner-designate Sir Julian King for the portfolio of the Security Union during its plenary session in Strasbourg. The Civil Liberties Committee will first hold a public hearing with the candidate on Monday 12 September in the evening. The full House will take a vote on Thursday.

Általános : Az EU Kanada második legnagyobb kereskedelmi partnere az Egyesült Államok után. A két fél közötti szabadkereskedelmi egyezményről (CETA) nemrég véget értek a hosszú évek óta zajló tárgyalások. A megállapodás most az Európai Parlament, a Tanács és tagállamok nemzeti parlamentjeinek jóváhagyására vár. Az EP nemzetközi kereskedelemért felelős szakbizottsága szerdán vitázott róla, Artis Pabriks (néppárti, litván) jelentéstevőt kértük, hogy foglalja össze, hogy áll most a helyzet.

The inquiry committee on Emission Measurements in the Automotive Sector (EMIS) heard Günter Verheugen, Commissioner for enterprise and industry 2004-2010, on how the current legislation on car emissions was drafted during his tenure. MEPs also heard Peter Lakin, vice president of Faurecia, on emission control technologies.

Általános : Az Unió következő évi költségvetését az EP-nek is mindig jóvá kell hagynia, idén az október végi plenáris ülésen szavaznak róla a képviselők.
