Covid infection numbers are currently falling steadily in almost all European countries. After the relaxing of restrictions in shops and restaurants and partial relaxations in cultural venues, has the time come to gradually lift the requirement to wear a mask? Commentators are at odds.

At their meeting on Monday, the Nato states for the first time adopted a clear position on China, which is described in the final declaration as presenting systemic challenges. TIRANA, 16 June 2021 – The OSCE Presence in Albania and the Office of the OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combatting Trafficking in Human Beings will host a conference on joint efforts to combat trafficking in human beings in Albania, on 17 June 2021, in Tirana and online.

The conference will focus on promoting the importance of partnerships and a multi-agency approach to enhance co-operation to address trafficking in human beings within the OSCE region and in Albania.

Participants will discuss the importance of strengthening a human rights based and victim-centered approach in all anti-trafficking actions. Representatives of central and local government institutions, parliament, judiciary and law-enforcement institutions, the international community, civil society, and academia will be attending.

Speakers opening the conference are as follows:

• Head of the OSCE Presence in Albania, Vincenzo Del Monaco;
• Albania’s Deputy Minister of Interior, Romina Kuko
• Swedish Ambassador at Large for Combating Trafficking in Persons, Anna Ekstedt;
• OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, Valiant Richey;
• United States Ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim;
• EU Delegation Ambassador, Luigi Soreca.
