The incidents have prompted a discussion about artistic freedom and freedom of expression in the Portuguese press.

The President of the European Council, António Costa, will travel to New York to represent the European Union at the 81st United Nations High-Level Week between 20 and 24 September 2026. He will address the UN General Assembly on behalf of the EU on 24 September and co-host the Partners for Multilateralism summit.
