Les agents de Police de Gogounou ont interpellé, dimanche 9 août 2026, un homme présenté comme un faux marabout ayant soutiré 640.000 FCFA à une victime.

Un escroc marabout est désormais dans les mailles de la Police Républicaine. Selon les informations, la victime avait sollicité les services du marabout afin de trouver une solution à ses disparitions récurrentes d'argent. Le mis en cause a perçu 40.000 FCFA pour confectionner un « avatar » censé protéger ses économies.

« Quelques jours plus tard, le suspect est revenu avec un canaris dans lequel il a recommandé à la victime de déposer ses économies. Celle-ci lui a alors remis la somme de 600.000 Fcfa qu'il a pris le soin d'emballer dans du papier attaché avec du fil rouge » , informe la Police Républicaine. Le contenant devait être ouvert trois jours plus tard.

À l'échéance, la victime a constaté que son argent avait disparu et a saisi la police. Une équipe du commissariat de l'arrondissement central de Gogounou a procédé à l'interpellation du suspect. Le mis en cause, originaire de Banikoara, s'était rendu à Gogounou dans l'intention de récupérer à nouveau une somme d'un million de francs CFA.

Interrogé sur l'affaire, il a reconnu les faits qui lui sont reprochés, tout en affirmant que l'argent allait « réapparaître » dans les prochains jours. Le suspect est placé en garde à vue et sera présenté au procureur de la République.

Selon nos sources, le véhicule impliqué dans ce drame est immatriculé au Nigéria. Le propriétaire serait venu rendre visite à un ami à Idigny. Ce dernier, décide alors d'essayer la nouvelle voiture, flambant neuf, et prend le volant.
Pendant qu'il conduisait, il perd le contrôle et va percuter trois personnes. Sous le choc, deux des victimes passent de vie à trépas. La troisième, grièvement blessée, est conduite à l'hôpital pour des soins. Une enquête devrait être ouverte pour faire la lumière sur ce drame et situer les responsabilités.
