Lengyelország az Európa Tanácshoz (ET) fordul Andrzej Poczobut fehéroroszországi lengyel kisebbségi vezető bebörtönzése miatt – közölte hétfőn Arkadiusz Mularczyk külügyminiszter-helyettes.

“Szorgalmazni fogjuk, hogy Marija Pejcinovic Buric, az ET főtitkára, valamint az ET Miniszteri Bizottsága ez ügyben határozott módon forduljanak a fehérorosz félhez” – mondta el Mularczyk a Polskie Radio 24 lengyel közszolgálati hírcsatornának. A Mularczyk által elkészített, az ET elé terjesztendő határozattervezetet a 46 államot tömörítő szervezet különféle tagországainak 30 képviselője írta alá.

A 49 éves Poczobutot múlt héten egy fehérorosz bíróság nyolc év szigorított fegyházra ítélte. A zárt ajtók mögött folytatott eljárást Varsó politikailag motiváltnak minősítette, a lengyel szejm határozatban ítélte el. Az ítélet miatt felháborodását fejezte ki Andrzej Duda lengyel elnök, Mateusz Morawiecki miniszterelnök és a lengyel külügyi tárca.

Mariusz Kaminski belügyminiszter kezdeményezte, hogy tárcája szankciós listájára vegyék fel a Poczobut, valamint a lengyel kisebbség más tagjainak elnyomásáért felelős személyeket. A már 2021 márciusában letartóztatott újságírót, a Fehéroroszországi Lengyelek Szövetségének (ZPB) alelnökét “nemzeti és vallási gyűlölet szítása”, valamint “Fehéroroszországnak ártó tevékenységre történő uszítás” miatt ítélték el.

Poczobuttal egy időben Andzelika Boryst, a ZPB elnökét is letartóztatták. Őt tavaly márciusban ugyan szabadon bocsátották, de továbbra is bűnügyi eljárást folytatnak ellene hasonló vádakkal, mint Poczobut esetében. A független fehérorosz média szerint Boryst házi őrizetben tartják.

Három más, szintén 2021 márciusában letartóztatott és Fehéroroszországban bűnvádi eljárás alá helyezett lengyel kisebbségi vezetőt – Irena Biernackát, Maria Tiszkowskát és Anna Paniszewát – 2021 júniusában Varsó közbenjárására kiengedték Lengyelországba.

Regional elections were held in Italy's two largest regions, Lombardy and Lazio, on Sunday and Monday.
