Lajović a látottak alapján főként azért tudott szinte egyenrangú ellenfele lenni a svájci játékosnak, mert Wawrinka rémesen szervált, első adogatásainak csak mindössze 44 százaléka volt pontos, amivel összességében 11 breaklabdához juttatta a szerbet, aki ebből ötöt értékesített is, igaz, hármat is a harmadik, általa nyert szettben. Jovanovski meccse szinte minden mutatóban kiegyenlített volt, de a döntő pillanatokban Vekić koncentráltabbnak bizonyult, hiszen tíz kettős hibája ellenére a szerb lány nem tudott ellene breaklabdát szerezni, ő viszont kilencből hármat kihasználva a következő körbe lépett.

A kiemeltek közül a harmadik fordulóra készülhet Roger Federer, Gilles Simon, Nisikori Kej, Marija Sarapova, Samantha Stosur, Sabine Lisicki is, de kiesett pl. a női mezőny 3. kiemeltje, a román Simona Halep, akit óriási meglepetésre búcsúztatott két szettben a horvát Mirjana Lučić-Baroni. A férfiaknál is született néhány váratlan eredmény, Benjamin Becker Fernando Verdascót, Tejmuraz Gabasvili Juan Monacót, Nicolas Mahut Ernests Gulbist, a bosnyák Damir Džumhur pedig Markosz Bagdatiszt ütötte ki.

A férfiaknál befejezték a kedden abbamaradt Gilles Müller–Paolo Lorenzi mérkőzést is, amelyet előbbi nyert meg öt játszmában, így vele mérkőzik ma meg Novak Đoković a második fordulóban. A világelső malmára hajtja a vizet, hogy a luxemburgi játékos sokkal kimerítőbb meccset vívott, így várhatóan nagyobb erőfeszítésekre lesz szüksége, hogy komolyabb ellenállást tanúsítson a szerb teniszezővel szemben. A két játékos korábban csak egyszer találkozott, idén az Australian Open nyolcaddöntőjében Đoković 6:4, 7:5, 7:5-ös diadalt aratott. Pályára lép ma a címvédő Rafael Nadal is, akinek honfitársa, Nicolas Almagro lesz az ellenfele, illetve a 3. kiemelt Andy Murray is, aki a portugál Joao Sousával méri össze erejét. Ha minden igaz, Viktor Troicki is ma mérkőzik meg az olasz Simone Bolellivel, akivel szemben korábbi négy meccsükből hármat megnyert, kettőt ráadásul az idén.

• SpaceX has been cleared by the Air Force for national security-related launches, injecting competition into a previous United Launch Alliance monopoly on private DoD launches. This is part of Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John McCain’s efforts to end US reliance on the Russia-manufactured RD-180 rocket for space launches. However, the Pentagon has previously urged Congress to allow ULA to continue using the Russian rockets in order to “ensure access to space”.

• The Air Force has also successfully test-fired a Minuteman III ICBM from Vandenberg AFB, with the launch initiated and controlled from a U.S. Strategic Command Airborne Command Post E-6B Sentry AWACS aircraft operating the Airborne Launch Control System.

• The Pentagon is currently determining what should be included in the F-35‘s Block 4 configuration, ahead of a review later this year. Weapons that could feature in Block 4 include the Small Diameter Bomb II and the Kongsberg Joint Strike Missile, as well as potentially the B61-12 standoff nuclear bomb.

• Young and Rubicam Inc. was awarded an $84.4 million contract Wednesday for advertising services in support of Navy recruitment, with one base year and four option years. The total value of the potential five-year contract would be $457.5 million.

• Also on Wednesday, Electric Boat Corp. was handed a $46.4 million contract for planning efforts needed to conduct maintenance, upgrades and modernization on USS Montpelier (SSN 765) while it is in dry dock.

• The Brazilian Navy has received the first of a dozen A-4 Skyhawks modernized by Embraer in order to extend their service life to 2025. Originally manufactured by McDonnell-Douglas, the upgraded jets have received new communications, weapons, power and navigation systems, as well as other new components.

Europe

• The United Kingdom won’t make a decision on whether to procure a British or US-manufactured strike package to equip its F-35 fleet until 2018. The choice is between the Small Diameter Bomb II – manufactured by Raytheon in the US – or an offering from home team MBDA to fulfill the Selective Precision Effects At Range 3 (SPEAR 3) requirement.

• Airbus has reappointed its CEO Maria Amparo Moraleda Martinez, who will be in charge of the European defense giant until 2019. The shareholder vote was win by a narrow margin, with Martinez taking 40% of the vote. The French, German and Spanish governments own shares in the firm; 11% for Germany and France and Spain 4.1%.

Asia

• India’s Defense Ministry has cleared a $3 billion deal for 15 CH-47F Chinook and 22 AH-64D Apache helicopters, with the acquisition now under a Finance Ministry review before a contract is signed. The country’s Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) effectively cleared the procurement in August last year, following the demise of the Light Utility Helicopter program.

• India and Germany have agreed to strengthen their defense relationship, with the German Defense Minister Ursula Von der Leyen currently in New Delhi plugging the Indians for a potential sale of Eurofighters and submarines. This is not the first time the Eurofighter has been pushed by European politicians, with British Prime Minister David Cameron recently reiterating that a potential deal with India is still on the table.

May 27, 2015 (KHARTOUM) – The Sudanese government, office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) signed on a joint strategy paper in Khartoum today to combat the growing wave of human trafficking.

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) also signed on to this strategy paper.

The state minister at the Ministry of the Interior Babiker Ahmed Digna said following the signing ceremony that Sudan is only hub for human smugglers and therefore suffers minimally unlike receiving countries which end up becoming the most affected.

He stressed that those considered victims of trafficking should now be viewed as partners in this crime because they are voluntarily working with smugglers.

The Sudanese commissioner for refugees Hamad al-Juzooli said that the new strategy developed is an extension of previous ones signed in 2013-2014 adding that donors made pledges to boost support after its proven success.

The UNHCR representative Mohammed Adar said that the joint cooperation with Khartoum succeeded in stopping the phenomenon of kidnapping in eastern Sudan and also led to a significant reduction in cases of human trafficking reported from 338 cases in 2012 to 113 in 2014 .

“There is still a long way to go to address this regional phenomenon effectively," Adar cautioned.

"The number of refugees who have arrived in Sudan doubled in the past year, and the tragic deaths of more than 1,800 people this year in the waters of the Mediterranean, highlight the need for cross-border cooperation and searching for a solution in the long term," he added.

La comparaison n’est pas fortuite, tel un mirage qui fuit toujours, apparait la paix du point de vue des Maliens fatigués de l’insécurité, de la violence et de la remise en cause de la souveraineté du Mali sur bien des localités maliennes du nord.

Les responsables de la CMFPR2 (Coordination des mouvements et force patriotique de résistance) et de la CPA (Coalition du peuple de l’Azawad) étaient devant la presse le jeudi 21 mai 2015 à la Maison de la presse pour inviter les autres membres de la Coordination des mouvements de l’Azawad (Cma) à signer l’accord d’Alger. La conférence de presse était animée par le vice-président de la CMFPR2, Younoussa Touré et le secrétaire général de la CPA, Mohamed Ag Ousmane en présence de nombreuses autres personnalités. Au cours de cette conférence de presse, le doyen de la Communauté Arabe du Mali, Mohamed Mahmoud El Oumrany a fait savoir que la mise en œuvre de l’accord d’Alger sera plus difficile et prendra beaucoup plus de temps que son élaboration.

May 27, 2015 (KHARTOUM) – The head of the visiting US Coast Guard delegation said that his country is prepared to help Sudan strengthen security measures in Port Sudan.

Sudanese officials said that the delegation which arrived two days was to hold discussions on several common issues pertaining to the implementation of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.

The head of the US delegation Steven Paul said in remarks following the conclusion of the meetings said that the port satisfies the security and safety ISPS requirements .

Paul was quoted by pro-government Ashorooq TV as saying that they reviewed the workload in Sudanese ports and security standards stressing that the two sides will work together for greater coordination.

"Sudanese ports are working well and we have the opportunity to enhance the security measures in Port Sudan and we are looking forward for future cooperation with Sudan in light of the good relationship that exists now," he said.

The director general of Sudan's Sea Ports Corporation (SPC) Jalal al-Din Mohamed Shulia for his part said that US delegation will provide them with a detailed report on the results of their visit after they return home.

He predicted that the report will praise the performance of Sudanese ports and noted that Mr. Paul mentioned that the security measures are applied properly and reliably.

En Ethiopie, les premiers résultats partiels des législatives de dimanche dernier ont été annoncés mercredi.
