EU ambassadors approve a provisional political agreement reached with the European Parliament on 12 July on a proposal to revise the Aarhus Regulation, in order to bring it fully in line with the Aarhus Convention on access to information, public participation in decision-making and access to justice in environmental matters.

The Council agreed its negotiating position on two legislative proposals: a new mandate for the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and a new regulations on cross-border threats to health.

The EU issued a declaration on the day of International Criminal Justice commemorating the historic adoption of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court in 1998.

Following a review under the recommendation on the gradual lifting of the temporary restrictions on non-essential travel into the EU, the Council updated the list of countries, special administrative regions and other entities and territorial authorities for which travel restrictions should be lifted.
