This ladies and gentlemen is exhibit A for pathetic planning.  For a unit to be established and then deactivated in less than 3 years is brand new to me (not counting experimental).
Force Design isn't a campaign of learning.  Its devolved into desperate ploy by leadership to make a flawed concept somehow work.  The Army has long range fires covered in spades.  Eyes and ears of the joint force?  Sense and make sense? We have drones, sats and other assets for that work.

By that I mean some are so ideological that as long as the "influencers" on the right support it so will many others. Don't do it with Rice. She's a so called Russia expert and a certified globalist/neo-con. I'm glad things are going well in Iran but that old "unintended consequences" thing makes me pause big time. Time will tell how things go but if Rice is back in an advisor role then confidence is not high.

The IDF Spokesperson announced Wednesday morning that there had been an historic event in the skies over Tehran. An Israel Air Force Adir fighter jet (F-35I) shot down an Iranian YAK-130 fighter jet above the Iranian capital. This was the world's first-ever downing of a manned fighter jet by an F-35 fighter jet.

Israel simply can't continue to engage in endless warfare. Its breaking its military and economy but no one is asking and he ain't telling. Early on people speculated that this was all to avoid jail but I think its bigger than that.

 

Note. I'm not quite sure what's going on with the Royal Marines but from the outside looking in it appears that the whole outfit has been placed under the UK's Special Operations Command. Don't know the facts of the thing but 42 Commando is certainly part of it now. So now in addition to the big two (SAS & SBS) the Brits have added their version of the Rangers, I THINK their Airborne and parts of their Air Force Security Forces under their Special Ops banner. All that remains of conventional forces seems to be about a division or two of Armored and Mechanized Infantry.

He was good no doubt but I think he proved a winner by being disciplined to a T. The whole team did. I can't think of any big time game Indiana was in this year where they had the superior athlete. Not one.
What they did have in spades was superior discipline.
The old saying that discipline trumps talent was proven once again.  Don't get me wrong.  Indiana has good players.  SOME NFL level talent players.  But few that knock your socks off.
They had the second thing that is proven for success.  They had superior EFFORT.
Finally they had a no quit attitude.  In the one or two tight games they were involved in, they maintained the discipline, effort and combined it with a no quit attitude to overcome/overwhelm their opponent in the end.
I started watching them late in the season but they gave a condensed life lesson to many youngsters.
The implications for college football and LSU football is immense.
We have Kiffin now a proven winner...but so was Kelly.  Kiffin supposedly has the drive and determination AND WORK ETHIC that Kelly didn't.
That alone points to success or rather MUCH more success than we had under Kelly.
But with the blue print we were just given will that be enough?  Yeah we just bought one of the most expensive rosters in the nation.
We have talent coming out our ass but is that enough if we don't have discipline, effort and a no quit attitude?
I'm a little concerned.
That Indiana coach rewound the clock and is onto something.  He added missing ingredients to his team (along with good players) and made something special. Not as good as our 2019 team but definitely in the top 5.
Kiffin brings swagger (don't know how to quantify that).  Kiffin brought in talent.  Kiffin has a brain trust out of this world on both sides of the ball.
But if we don't have discipline, effort and a no quit attitude then this team will not deliver what everyone in my state expects which is a National Title.
